  • Corporate Debt Restructuring by Reducing Bank and Unsecured Liabilities

The need for a corporate debt restructuring arises when a company is having difficulty in meeting its financial obligations.
If the troubles are big enough to pose a high risk of the company going bankrupt, we can avoid bankruptcy, reducing these burdens by negotiating with its creditors.

We develop a solid framework for flexible debt repayment – the core of any project finance transaction.
Haircuts will be applied when borrowers restructure debt - trimming repayments. Agreements might allow repayment part of the original loan, for example with a 20% haircut, the customer will repay 80 cents for every €1 borrowed.

In financial markets, the term haircut refers to a cut in the value of financial assets used to support a loan. For example, if a company or institution struggles to repay a loan, the providers of the loan may agree to “take a haircut” by reducing the amount they are repaid (rather than risking not being repaid at all). In this case, haircuts are meant to provide a one-off adjustment to allow both the lender and the borrower to move on after a period of financial pain.

Smith Felton Capital Partner's experts will try to raise institutional or private equity to close customer’s haircut debts in order to reestablish the balance of their new future repayments.

Our specialists have experience in a broad range of projects, they assess and mitigate risks, design the financing mix, raise the funds, offer the optimal haircut and financing solutions and advise companies, investors and creditors in restructuring and in bankruptcy situations.
